One of the issues of concern to commentators, which has led to the emergence of opinions and theories, is the difference in readings. Certainly, one of the prerequisites for the correct interpretation of the Holy Qur''an is the knowledge of the correct reading narrated by the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), which includes criteria such as the authenticity of the document. Agreeing with the Arabic rules and conforming to the custom of the Mushaf is considered as a criterion. Among the important commentaries of the Islamic world: "Al-Kashf on the facts of the descent" written by Mahmoud bin Umar Zamakhshari (AD 538 AH) among the Sunni scholars and "Jawama'' al-Jama" written by Fazl bin Hassan Tabarsi (AD 548 AD) among the Shia scholars, both commentaries with Literary approach, in their interpretative findings, they have paid serious attention to different readings. This article, with descriptive-analytical method, aims to answer the question of how and to what extent this difference in readings was effective in the interpretations of these two commentators and which one of them chose the correct reading. ? To answer this question, after defining the science of recitation and its subject and stating its usefulness, the criteria and criteria for the acceptance of recitations and the effect of differences in recitation on their interpretations have been examined from the point of view of these two commentators.
